Examples Of Work
Websites
Here are just a few examples of our work that are currently up and running online (and some that are not).
Hardwicke Arms Hotel, Near Royston - www.hardwickearms.co.uk
The Hardwicke Arms contacted us as they were unhappy with the designer they had employed to manage their site.
They wanted a clean-cut, simple design that was in keeping with their Grade 1 listed building.
The team at the Hardwicke were so impressed with our design, that they also asked us to design them new logos, brochures, letterheads, and menus to keep the continuity throughout their media.
Camp Network - (Now Offline)
The Camp Network was a community project for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transexual communities in and around Cambridgeshire.
We worked along side many different community organisations to help them produce powerful web designs, content and distribute information effectively to their audience. We were lucky enough to be able to work with the project for 2yrs before they closed due to a lack of funding. The site went through many different ‘themes’ and designs over the years, but was perhaps best known for the one to the left.
A year later, there are rumors about a possible revival of the Camp Project, and we would be more than happy to lend our services to their great cause again.
Dockland Films - (Proposal)
We were asked by a London based DVD rental store to create a design for their new online ordering and delivery service.
The company had some ideas of what they wanted, and had gone to a student to assist with the sites’ construction. However, the results were not that good. Instead, they came to us. We designed everything down to their logo.
In the end it turned out that they wished to add lots of additional functionality to the site, which was not budgeted for, and so unfortunately the project was scrapped.
Mini Blahs - www.miniblahs.com
Mini Blahs is a news media distribution system that is currently being developed.
Mini Blahs came to us to design two versions of their site - one to advertise their service while it is being developed (currently online), and the other to be launched along side the launch of their service.
Mini Blahs wanted to ensure that the customer could automatically understand the difference between the ‘coming soon’ informational website and the fully-launched versions. The final version of the site will be online in the near future.
Wicken Kitchen Recipes - www.wickenkitchenrecipes.co.uk (Current Project - Complete Update of Site)
We were asked by the client to design a template that they could use with their own web design software. After several versions of the design, the client opted for the one to the left which best suited the overall feel that they wanted the portray.
January 2008 Update: We have been asked to overhaul the site to get it up-to-date.
Even though the site was technically sound when we designed it (back in early 2006), the web has moved on and so we are bringing it back up to speed.
Starbase 410 Version 1 - (Now Offline)
In late 2005 a local Science Fiction Club asked us to design them a website that they could update themselves with their own web design software. They asked us to make it simple, easy on the eye and loosely based on the Star Trek ‘LCARS’ system.
The site grew in both popularity and size - with over 80+ pages of information and original content, which was much larger than they had originally anticipated. Over the years we were asked to go back and add some ‘tweaks’ here and there, but the original design managed up withstand the vast database of information the club was throwing at it. As time moved on, however, the web became a lot more advanced, and so the club asked us to redesign the site…
Starbase 410 Version 2 - (Proposal)
At the beginning of 2007 we were asked by the Sci-fi Club to update the look and feel of their site. This time it was slightly different as the copyright rules of ‘Paramount Pictures’ (who own the rights to Star Trek) had become rather more relaxed, and so instead of ‘loosely’ basing the site on the ‘LCARS’ design, we decided to go the full whack!
Firstly we condensed all of the clubs information in to five website areas to make it a lot easier to navigate. Secondly we decided to use flash to animate the top banner of the site - which made sounds, went to warp speed and even sounded red alert! We went to town on the site, and had too much fun! Even though the site was completed, the club realised some of their dyslexic members were unable to use the site as well as other members, and so shortly after the site was launched, it was pulled. We are now just looking for a good project to use this template on…
Calvin CMS - www.calvincms.co.uk
Calvin CMS (from the makers of Mini Blahs) wanted a small website to show the possibilities of their new software that they are developing.
They did not want anything too ‘flashy’ or time consuming to download, but instead a clean design to demonstrate the possibilities of their service.
We have also been asked to develop their main website when their services become live in 2008.
Logos
Over the years we have been asked to design or update a company’s logo, and here are just a few examples:
